While we have been in Maine we have seen and done a lot of neat things that I have already shared.  This post is about the things we did in between and our last week in Maine.  We saw so many neat things I decided to throw this post together to share them. That is why I named it Hangin’ out in Maine

Skowhegan

This small town has a lot of history to it.  Check it out here.  It is known for having the oldest continuously held state fair in the U.S.  Famous artist Bernard Langlais was from here and you can see much of his art throughout the town and state.  We found several of his pieces.  I have included a picture of his most famous sculpture.  They also have some beautiful hikes and trails here.  We took the dogs on the riverwalk trail and it was beautiful.  Great views of the river.  They also have a nice farmers market on Saturdays and shops, bars, and restaurants to check out.  We had a fun afternoon here.

Another great little spot we found was Belfast Maine.

This quaint little town reminded me of what you would imagine a small Maine fishing village to look like.  Very neat, very beautiful. We spent an afternoon walking along the waterfront, enjoying the scenery and water.  It is always fun looking at all the boats in the anchorage.  They have a Cider Bar called Perennial here which is nothing like we have ever been to.  It is solely focused on ciders from all over.  We enjoyed a flight and a pint of our favorite.  They also serve food.  A fun stop all around.

Leaving Maine

We have really enjoyed our month here in Maine but it is time to move on and check out some other places and see some family.  Stay tuned as next week we visit Niagra Falls and we take some video.  We are working on getting back into doing more videos and will be incorporating those into the posts again.  Only a few photos this week but I hope you enjoy them.
