We are absolutely loving Pumpkin Patch RV Park.  They take such good care of everything here.  It is so refreshing!  Everything is always so clean and everyone is so nice.  Now that we have gotten settled we decided it was time to dive into seafood at home.   After our delicious lobster on our way here, we were craving more.  We found a great market and picked up a couple of lobsters and boiled them.  Another night we did mussels.  Next time, we did steamed clams, raw oysters, and sauteed scallops in butter.  All of it delicious.  The seafood here is so lovely. We are really Enjoying the Maine Highlands

Time to get out and about and see some of this great state.  We have done some research and decided to check out Greenville and Moosehead lake area.  We got a recommendation from a lady who told us that area would be our best moose sighting chance. So that is where we decided to go.  Dave planned out a nice route for the day.

Highlands

Maine is divided into 8 sections.  Our area and the Greenville area are considered the Maine Highlands.  It is really beautiful up here the photos don’t do it justice.

On our way into Greenville, we found this goat farm that brewed beer.  Turning Page Farm Brewery.  A must stop, how often do you see that?  They sold goat cheese, goat milk salad dressing, etc.  Unfortunately, we didn’t bring a cooler, or I would have snatched that stuff up.  The beer was very tasty and they made their own sausages which, were delicious!  What a great stop and we got to enjoy our lunch all while being entertained by the goats.

Greenville is a quaint little town on Moosehead lake.  The lake is beautiful and so peaceful.  We spent a little time walking around the town. I saw a sign for Maine chocolate so we went in to inquire.  However, it wasn’t what I was looking for, no worries on we went.

We spent the rest of the afternoon driving around the area looking at all the beautiful scenery. I am happy to report we saw three moose.  Two off in the distance in the water and one almost right in front of us. I didn’t get a very good picture of him he was on his way before I could get my camera.  I did get some really nice shots of the others though.

What a great day!  The landscape is so beautiful here I can only imagine how breathtaking the colors are in the fall.  We are really enjoying it so far.  See you next week for more of Maine.
