This post is long overdue but we are…Back in the Water!  This post has been in the works for awhile.  I have had some problems with my host site and had to work out those issues before posting again.  I was going to go to a new host company but in the end decided to stay with my current host.  Finally I am able to post this again with confidence that you will be able to see it.  Sooo, with out further ado lets get to it.

Leaving the RV

We cleaned out the RV in a couple trips and left it with a family member.  Taking the car down to Snead Island Boat Works where the boat is on the hard.  Luckily for us we have some amazing friends that let us crash at their place with our dogs.  Thanks Jeff and Linda, we love you guys!!

Launching the boat

We slept at their place and spent our days at the boat yard.  Once we got her launched (Check out the video below on the launch) we had to get her commissioned to sail.  This meant getting everything stowed again, sails put back on, dodger back up, the boat needed a major cleaning (bird poop everywhere up top).  It took us about 4 days to get her ready to go again.  Dave had to change the impeller in the engine and some other maintenance.  Then, it was time to leave the slip and head to our new spot for the next few months

Saint Petersburg

Sunday morning was a rainy morning that turned out to be quite breezy.  After leaving our slip we were able to put up our sails for a little while until we made our turn to head under the bridge and into Saint Pete.  Jeff and Linda joined us for the day which was great.  Once we got to the dock we had some lunch and they headed home.  It was fun to have them for our trip over.

I can’t tell you how good it is to get back in the water and be living back on the boat again.  We really missed it.  Don’t get me wrong, we throughly enjoyed the RV but the boat is our home.

We have some major sailboat projects coming up so check back for those.  Until then, enjoy the video below.

Cheers,

Jill
